Architecture and art have always been closely related and several great people have practiced both. Le Corbusier, Leonardo, Raphael, Guilo Romano and Michangelo come to mind immediately. Movements in art and architecture have been hand in hand eg Renaissance art and architecture and Modern art and architecture. One can see tendencies and themes in both means of expression.
I had this crazy idea. Could I take a painting and turn it directly into architecture or at least a landscape? i took a painting by Le Corbusier's (and my) favorite cubist painter Juan Gris and imported it into Sketch Up. Traced over it and elevated it to cereate this surreal architectonic landscape.
